Baked Cheesy Beef Pasta

THE RAMBLINGS

Today ive been busy making muffins and do typing job... i dont know how much hour i am sleeping last night but i am pretty sure it is just around 2 hours period. which makes me headache the whole day. the kids (Ariana and Mia) always fighting with each other for a baloon. ah.. kids will always be kids... ;)

today i just baked a leftover spirals pasta from Raya. I opened up my freezer and there's a minced Beef over there. Hm.. i could turn these guys into a meal perhaps? too tired to eat rice... haha >_<




 
THE RECIPE

For Beef Pasta

Spirals - cooked until soft and tender, with oil and salt, drain
250 gms minced beef
Extra virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
Celery - cut into chunks
Carrots - Grated
Tomato - cubed
3tbs Worchetershire sauce
Chicken stock / Beef Stock
Salt and pepper to taste
Onion (Yellow) - chopped
Garlic - crushed
2 tbsp flour

For White Sauce
3 tbs butter
1 spoonful flour
thickened/ cooking cream
Flaked Parsley and Basil
1 tbsp Lemon Juice

For Topping
Grated Cheddar Cheese, Also can use Mozarella, or both. divided

Mustard Powder (optional)
a sprinkle of basil flakes

1.  For white sauce, melt the butter. add the flour and whisk until well combine. turn of the heat and add the cooking cream. stir until no lumps. zest the lemon and add the juice. at this point i avoid salt and any seasoning. just the herbs

2. Heat the EVOO, add the onion and garlic and cook over medium high heat until it starts to soften. Add the minced beef/ meat and vegies except the tomatoes and cook until the meat become tender. at this point, i add a dash of worchestershire and chicken stock. then add 2tbsp of flour. taste. if its too thick, u can just add some water. stir well till the meat browns. add in the tomatoes.u can add a milk if u want to. Or white sauce. stir well.

3.add the soften pasta and stir them until well combined. add into the baking dish and level. meanwhile, you can prepare for the topping

4. heat the white sauce with low heat. remove pan from the heat and add mustard powder and grated cheese. season to taste. and spread sauce over pasta. sprinkle remaining cheese and basil flakes

5. Baked in the center of the oven for 20minutes. ,200°c serve hot. ;)
